The SYTA Youth Foundation 20th Anniversary Blastoff is a fundraising event taking place in Huntsville, Alabama, August 7-9, 2019. Join the SYTA Youth Foundation and your SYTA peers for networking while supporting SYF’s mission to change young lives through travel.  Just by attending these events, you will help us reach our goal of one million dollars for the “Acorn” Endowment Fund. Blastoff Evening Events registration fee is $125. Includes both locations; Botanical Garden and US Space & Rocket Center.

Every golfer will receive the following:

  • Breakfast upon arrival
  • Luncheon and awards ceremony
  • Complimentary access to the beverage cart – on course, courtesy of Sunsational Tours
  • 1 sleeve of golf balls & golf tees

Club Rentals: Golf clubs have been reserved for those who requested. Club rentals are available for an additional $50. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected].

Weather: Temperatures are hot during the day in August. The average high is 89 degrees. Don’t forget sunscreen! SYTA staff will keep you informed should any inclement weather impact the tournament, the morning of August 9th. The course remains open in light rain as long as there is no thunder and lightning.

 Attire: RTJ Golf Course offers a casual resort atmosphere to enjoy your day on the course. All guests are asked to follow the guidelines below:

  • Men must wear collared shirts with sleeves, midlength shorts or pants.
  • Women are asked to wear sleeved or sleeveless blouses of conservative design, mid-length shorts or pants.
  • Non-metal spiked shoes must be worn while on the course. Clothing that is not appropriate includes:  swimming attire, gym shorts, halter tops, tank tops, cut-offs and other dress that is deemed inappropriate.

Food & Beverage: Breakfast and coffee will be provided at the golf course when you arrive. During classic, the golf course beverage carts will be serving complimentary beverages courtesy of Sunsational Tours. When the tournament concludes, we will have a sponsored reception courtesy of Expedia Local Expert and lunch in the Club House. Lunch and breakfast are included as part of your registration fee.

GOLF RULES: Scramble format, due to time constraint the Par is the Worst Score, please pick up and move to the next Tee.  Remember you can buy more string and play even faster!!

  • All members of a foursome tee off
  • The best ball is selected
  • All players move their ball to the spot of the best shot
  • Continue each shot by selecting the ‘best ball’ and playing in

Rules: The birdie string is not reusable!! Tie off the string into a knot as it’s used, once your 20 feet is used, it is done!
