Education Session: Human Trafficking in the Hospitality and Travel Industries

August 12 @ 11:15 am - 12:15 pm

Location: Sugar Hill Room, Executive Conference Center, Lower Level

Human trafficking is a form of abuse where people profit from the control and exploitation of others. The International Labor Organization estimates there are over 40 million victims globally – 1 in 4 of which is a child. Victims are often sold in hotel rooms and transported via airlines and commercial buses. Those in the hospitality and travel industries are uniquely situated to identify and report suspicious activity. In this session you will learn some of the indicators victims and traffickers exhibit, how to respond safely to suspected trafficking cases and various resources available for your industries.

Speaker: Maressa Jaikumar from We Are Pact
