Assiniboine Park & Zoo (Sunday) – 7:00 – 9:30 PM
Sponsored by Travel Manitoba
Assiniboine Park will light up your Sunday Evening!
Manitoba is located on Treaty 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 Territories, the ancestral land of the Anishinaabeg, Anishininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Denesuline, and Nehethowuk Nations and is the Homeland of the Red River Metis. Northern Manitoba includes lands that were and are the ancestral lands of the Inuit.
Tonight, we are celebrating Manitoba’s history, people and culture through food, performance, and music.
You are in for a treat at Assiniboine Park Zoo, where Arctic animals such as Nanuk (polar bears) will be ready to welcome you at the Journey to Churchill exhibit. While the skies will be too light outside for northern lights viewing, you can experience them inside the 360-degree Aurora Borealis Theatre during the short film, Rhythms of the North.
Taste new Indigenous cuisine like bannock tacos, bison sliders and pickerel bites.
Take in spectacular performances such as hoop dancers, throat singers, Red River jiggers and more.
The headliner for the evening will be an international TikTok sensation who combines traditional Métis jigging with hip hop dance. You don’t want to miss this performance!
Explore the Leaf | Assiniboine Park Conservancy (Sunday) – 9:00 – 10:30 PM
