January in Virginia Beach?

Escape the noise and routine of everyday life and step into a place where time slows down—where the warmth of a crackling fireplace and the scent of salt air set the stage for deep learning and authentic connection. Our  Summit Leadership Retreat unfolds in a grand historic hotel perched on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, its timeless charm and cozy ambiance creating the perfect environment for renewal and reflection.

In the quiet of January, the distractions fade. The ocean’s winter rhythm becomes a gentle backdrop for inspired thinking, courageous conversation, and meaningful relationship-building. Far from meeting rooms and digital interruptions, you’ll experience a rare kind of focus—a chance to engage with peers, share insights, and strengthen your leadership vision in a setting designed to nourish both mind and spirit.

Whether gathered around firelit lounges, walking the windswept shoreline, or exchanging ideas over locally sourced meals, every moment is curated to foster trust, creativity, and collaboration. This is not just a retreat—it’s a turning point.

About our Location

The Grand Opening of the Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach in 1927 marked the beginning of a glamorous era for the resort, as it became a beacon of opulence and a prime destination during the “Roaring Twenties.” Summit attendees will experience a juxtoposition of the “1920’s and the 2020’s”.

Greg Dotson – Dr. Phillips Center for Performing Arts

There is so much value in attending Summit! The networking opportunities with leaders in the student travel industry are priceless. I was inspired by the great conversations around Sustainability and Responsible Travel and moved when our former scholarship winner, Gandi, shared his story. Scottsdale was a perfect destination for exploring and spending time with new and old colleagues.

Holly Avino – Destination Niagara USA

It has been fabulous so far! Everyone has been very welcoming with it being my first summit, being able to talk to just about everyone here has been really helpful and resourceful. The education has been impactful and the topics make complete sense for the demographic of the attendees.

Tara Hippensteel, National Director of Tourism, City Cruises

You get what you give- there are opportunities to network and learn ALL day. The Tour Operators are more open and relaxed. I’ve had the opportunity to discuss strategy and build the business- a much deeper dive than any other show.

Jessica Johnson – Disney Imagination Campus at Walt Disney World Resorts

This years annual Summit was by far one of the best! The educational components were very robust and relevant to all in the Youth Travel Industry. The engagement opportunities allowed for deep connections amongst our community of professionals that strive to create opportunities for students to Perform, Learn, and Celebrate.
