The Student & Youth Travel Association (SYTA) proudly announces the recipients of its 2026 Presidential Recognition Awards, honoring two exceptional leaders whose dedication, expertise, and commitment have strengthened both the Association and the student travel industry.
Lindsey Hill, Director of Group Tour at Destination DC, has been selected as the recipient of the 2026 President’s Award for Associate Member of the Year. Jeff Ment, Founder of Ment Law, has been named the inaugural recipient of the 2026 President’s Distinguished Service Award.
Presented at the sole discretion of the SYTA President, these awards recognize individuals whose leadership and service exemplify the highest standards of professionalism, partnership, and commitment to the student travel community.
The President’s Award for Associate Member of the Year recognizes an associate member whose exceptional partnership and service have made a significant impact on SYTA and its members.
Hill is being honored for her steadfast leadership and unwavering support of student travel to Washington, DC during an extended period of unprecedented challenges, including government shutdowns, budget constraints, changing ticketing policies, public demonstrations, and motorcoach parking limitations. Through timely communications, educational webinars, and direct support to tour operators, she ensured SYTA members remained informed, prepared, and confident in serving their travelers.
Introduced in 2026, the President’s Distinguished Service Award recognizes individuals whose sustained service, professional expertise, and extraordinary commitment have left a lasting legacy on SYTA and the student travel industry.
Ment is being recognized for his exceptional commitment to serving SYTA members over many years, particularly during and following the COVID-19 pandemic. As one of the industry’s most trusted legal advisors, he has generously shared his expertise on legal, insurance, employment, and business matters while consistently making himself available whenever members needed guidance. Through his presentations at SYTA’s Annual Conference, Summit, and virtual education programs, Jeff has educated and supported countless professionals with practical advice delivered with clarity, professionalism, and his trademark sense of humor.
