The 2026 Virtual Global Citizens Challenge has come to a close, and once again it showed how powerful it is when young leaders come together with purpose. The energy from students around the world was matched by the enthusiasm of the incredible SYTA members who participated as speakers and presenters. This year, participants represented more than 51 countries, bringing diverse perspectives and cultures to the program.
A special thank you to Visit Pittsburgh for bringing a taste of their amazing city to the program. Students especially enjoyed the virtual experiences from the National Aviary, Bradford House & Whiskey Rebellion, Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament, and Rivers of Steel.
We now look ahead to our in-person skill-building program in Pittsburgh this August, alongside the SYTA Annual Conference. We hope to involve many SYTA members so you can experience the impact of the SYTA Youth Foundation firsthand.
One youth participant, Robel from the U.S., shared:
“The GCC helped me visualize the type of person I want to be in the future—someone who shares their experiences while learning from others. It gave me a wider perspective and made me more ambitious after learning about so many different cultures.”
