After 9/11 and  in the midst of Anthrax attacks, SYTA decided to move forward with the 5th SYTA Annual Conference in October 2001 in Washington D.C. Conference attendees gathered in front of the closed capitol building with candles lit and sang “God Bless America.” There wasn’t a dry eye to be found as members paid tribute to such a difficult time in American history.
