Pre-FAM: Visit Beaufort, SC

Lowcountry Nature and Charm Degullah Way
This tour is FREE to Tour Operators. Deadline to sign up is August 1. Space is limited to 25 people.
Join us for a full day exploring the natural beauty and cultural charm of Beaufort’s Lowcountry.

- Visit the Port Royal Maritime Center to learn about the unique ecosystem of the lowcountry in their waterfront museum. Hands-on activities will bring you close to the nature and wildlife that abound here.
- Birding Beaufort will introduce you to the birds and wildlife seen at the Cypress Wetlands.
- A visit to the Kazoobie Kazoo Factory and Museum is a must.
- Enjoy free time in our historic downtown where you will shop and enjoy lunch in our locally owned shops and restaurants along the Intracoastal Waterway.
- After lunch, depart for a tour of Saint Helena Island focusing on the Gullah Culture.
- Visit Gay’s Fish Company and learn how shrimp are harvested.
- Coastal Expeditions will introduce you to the educational tours and programs they offer students in two locations.
- The tour will conclude with a Lowcountry Boil dinner featuring local Gullah entertainment at the Gullah Geechee Cultural Center.

The tour will depart from Savannah hotels at 8 am on Thursday, August 21, and will return the same evening by 8:00 pm. Please note that seafood is on the menu and be sure to let us know if you have any allergies.

Post-FAM: It’s a Tybee Island Take-Over!

Transportation will depart Savannah on Tuesday morning, August 26, and return on Wednesday, August 27, at noon. The schedule will be announced soon.
If you are arranging your own transportation, the drive from downtown Savannah to Hotel Tybee takes 30 minutes by car or taxi, and the trip from Hotel Tybee to the Savannah Airport takes 60 minutes by car or taxi.
