During Hispanic Heritage Month, SYTA proudly recognizes and celebrates our Hispanic members and the many contributions they make to our association, the travel industry, and the communities they serve.
Your leadership, culture, perspectives, and commitment enrich the SYTA community and help create meaningful travel experiences that broaden students’ understanding of the world. We are grateful for all you bring to our membership—not only during Hispanic Heritage Month, but throughout the year.

- Dates: September 15 to October 15, 2026. [1]
- 2026 Theme: “Unidos, Somos Más” (Together, We Are More). [2]
- Significance: September 15 marks the independence anniversaries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, with Mexico, Chile, and Belize celebrating theirs immediately after. [3]
- Background: Started as Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968 by President Lyndon B. Johnson and expanded to a 30-day period by President Ronald Reagan in 1988. [4]
