Next Season on Broadway
For many Broadway professionals, their passion for the industry began the moment they saw their first live performance as a young child. And more often than not, that first performance was on a trip to New York City or a regional theatre with their fellow students. Class trips, choir competitions, and student tours are formative shared experiences for countless future theatre professionals.
Live theatre offers students an extraordinary pathway to discovery and we’re excited to continue to share news about the upcoming 2024-2025 Broadway season, which will feature several surefire student hits. Be sure to stay on top of all the latest announcements at groups.broadway.com and get ready for some very special presentations at SYTA 2024!
A Wonderful World
Louis Armstrong’s innovative musicianship and incredible charisma as trumpeter and vocalist would lead him from the early days of jazz in his native New Orleans to five decades of international stardom. Already a hit with groups, A WONDERFUL WORLD tells the story of Armstrong’s blazing musical career from the perspective of his four wives, who each had a unique impact on his life.
Including songs made famous by Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, George & Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter, and many more – performances start on October 16th at famed Studio 54.
Gypsy
It’s Audra’s turn—six-time Tony Award®-winner Audra McDonald is coming to Broadway this Fall in GYPSY! Last seen on Broadway in 2022’s Ohio State Murders, GYPSY marks McDonald’s return to her musical theatre roots for the first time since 2016. Following in the footsteps of other Broadway legends Ethel Merman, Angela Lansbury, Tyne Daly, Bernadette Peters, and Patti LuPone—Audra McDonald takes on the iconic role of “Mama Rose” in the latest revival of this seminal musical!
GYPSY is the landmark Broadway musical about a domineering mother in the early 20th Century who will do anything to make Vaudeville stars of her daughters. Inspired by the early life of stripper Gypsy Rose Lee, this new production is directed by George C. Wolfe and choreographed by Camille A. Brown and is the musical that introduced the hit songs “Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” “Let Me Entertain You,” and “You Gotta Get a Gimmick.”
Performances begin November 21 for this hotly-anticipated classic!
