EVENTS

Summit Road Trip, Los Angeles
Summit attendees will spend the day enjoying iconic Los Angeles attractions with a focus on student travel.

Morning Joe, Sequoia Foyer
6:30 AM – 7:00 AM
Grab a cup of Joe and a snack for the trip.  Don’t forget your Summit Cap!

Summit Fan Experience – SoFi Stadium
8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
We start our day at SoFi Stadium, with a special tour, breakfast, and “Summit Group Photo”.
SoFi is the first indoor-outdoor stadium to be constructed and is the home of the Los Angeles Chargers and the Los Angeles Rams. The tour will include insights into its unique construction, a peak at the locker room, and a special surprise.  The SoFi team has also created new performance and educational opportunities for student groups.

Lunch at the Old Farmer’s Market
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Attendees will receive a food voucher to enjoy one of the many food vendors at the Market. Our Melting Pot will give a brief history of the market and what you will experience.  We will also have a private area with drinks and snacks hosted by the Old Farmer’s Market. We will meet at the Clock Tower and walk over to The Grove.

Tour and Dessert Reception at The Grove
1:30pm-2:30pm
The Grove takes its name from “the oak, elm and magnolia trees surrounding the area”.
It was established in 1934 and since then has grown and expanded to become world-famous. The Grove, which came along in 2002, has become known for high-end shopping and dining.  Today, many student groups combine lunch at The Farmer’s Market with a visit to the Grove.
The team at Caruso that owns and manages The Grove will give guided tours and a hosted dessert reception for our attendees. It is a unique opportunity for us to show the value of student groups to The Grove and how we can work together.

Afternoon on the Set, Warner Bros. Studio
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
With a brand-new welcome center and customized studio tours, Warner Bros asked to show Summit attendees the busiest major motion picture and television studio in the world. They have developed a behind-the-scenes tour just for our attendees followed by an afternoon refreshment break.

Evening at Universal Studios Hollywood
5:30 PM – 9:00 PM
In 2013, SYTA members had an exciting evening at Universal Studios Hollywood, and we are so glad to be back! We will experience the Park and then relax in a private area for dinner under the stars.

Tara Hippensteel, National Director of Tourism, City Cruises

SYTA Summit provides an unique opportunity to get up close with my SYTA partners and many of our buyers. The environment lends itself to a causal, natural environment – no pressure just building my network!

Dr. Michael A. Mazzarisi, President, Performing Arts Consultants

The best part of a SYTA SUMMIT is that it provides the opportunity for travel professionals to meet in a conversable setting without the pressure of a 7 minute meeting or have to deal with the barrage of conference masses. Every tour operator has unique abilities, and since I am a big proponent of partnerships, SUMMIT becomes an ideal network to forge plans for new and exciting joint ventures.

Kara Mihalevich, President, Adventure Student Travel, LLC

To me, SYTA Summit is the most valuable conference that I attend. I always find the educational seminars very useful and because it is a smaller, more intimate conference, you get to build a much deeper relationship with the sponsors. This is also the only conference that I have ever really had the opportunity to get to know other attendees. I absolutely LOVE SYTA Summit!

Steve Maehl, Global Travel Alliance

It was over ten years ago that I attended my very first SYTA event at the 2009 Summit. I learned a lot, and made new friendships, but what impressed me the most was discovering an organization that desired to come together to collectively improve our industry and continually works together to change young lives for good through travel.
