Tips on Researching Prospects
- When searching by CITY or STATE, keep in mind this will search the location of the organization’s main office, not destinations of tours or venues.
- Broaden or narrow your search criteria to develop your prospect list.
- Review the website of companies that interest you to get more information on their current products or service.
- Keep in mind that the data is only as good as the information supplied by the appointment taker when completing their online profile questions. Some of the information may not fully represent all of the destinations or services that they provide. If at first your search results are empty, keep trying to broaden your search criteria.
Understanding SYTA’s Scheduling Process
Appointment-takers have the opportunity to request appointments with the organizations they want to meet with during the Business Sessions.
SYTA gives you the flexibility of requesting your appointments through the portal, allowing you to change and update your requests until the minute they are scheduled. Sellers also have the option to block their schedules if they are unable to meet during the full Business Session appointment times.
SYTA’s appointment scheduling program schedules nearly 80% of mutually requested appointments (meaning both Buyer and Seller requested to meet with each other) and 75% of Buyer requested appointments. Appointments are scheduled based on attendee’s company registration date, priority of request and type of request.
There are 116 appointment slots available in the Buyer appointment schedule. 90% of these appointments are scheduled prior to the Annual Conference through the appointment portal.
Seller appointment-taking delegates do not have booths, but walk the floor and move from Buyer to Buyer for their appointments. Sellers can make up to 55 requests. Buyers can make up to 180 appointment requests. Requesting the maximum appointments allowed increases your chances of getting those mutual requests.
The average Seller appointment schedule is between 15 to 20 pre-scheduled appointments over the three days. Sellers may use Buyer directory through the appointment portal to request meetings outside the Business Sessions.
