Get Your Students’ Play On!

August 30, 2017

Give your student groups a museum experience like no other with a visit to The Strong—the ultimate play destination for all ages. Known widely as the Nation’s Museum of Play, The Strong is home to the world’s largest collection of toys, dolls, games and video games.

As students explore two floors of hands-on exhibit spaces, they will learn how play illuminates American cultural history. Students will discover more than 300 years of American games and toys in America at Play, journey through the Toy Halls of Fame and World Video Game Hall of Fame, test their skills on classic arcade video games and pinball machines in eGameRevolution and Pinball Playfields, and walk among hundreds of free-flying butterflies in the rainforest environment of Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden.

In addition to artifact displays and exhibits, the museum offers customized presentations and tours related to American history, toy and game design, and more. Museum facilities can accommodate performing arts students with rehearsal and performance venues such as the museum’s 290-seat theater or 2,800-square foot Caterpillar Atrium.

Open nearly every day of the year, the museum provides groups access to a bright, spacious food court and a vintage American diner, free Wi-Fi, catering facilities for up to 330 people, guided tours and more. The Strong is located in the Rochester, New York, Finger Lakes region, making it easily accessible for students from Niagara Falls and other U.S. and Canadian destinations.
