Laval’s ‘First of Its Class’ Offer to School Groups

October 18, 2017

Laval has more than 80 attractions that offer great activities, rain or shine. These include 20 attractions of all types located within a 12.5-mile radius. Make them part of your itinerary, so your groups can make surprising discoveries.

Tourisme Laval has developed a “First of its Class” program that allows elementary school and high school students to learn while having fun, and establishes direct links between the lessons taught and exciting activities at Laval’s unique attractions. Tourisme Laval can help you organize a complete school trip to ensure your group enjoys a memorable experience.

Combining Learning and Discovery

You want to organize a program of scientific activities? Your group can participate in a virtual space mission at Cosmodôme, Canada’s museum devoted entirely to astronautics, as well as in various unique activities at Canada’s Space Camp. Stimulate enquiring minds with hands-on laboratory experiments at Armand-Frappier Museum, a bioscience interpretation center, and an interactive educational tour of a hydroelectric power plant. At SkyVenture, an indoor free-fall simulator, groups can put physics theory into practice, or combine outdoors and learning at Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles, a wildlife sanctuary.

Is your group more the musical type? Laval Symphony Orchestra offers music immersion activities, such as workshops dedicated to a particular instrument with musicians or Maestro Alain Trudel, an internationally renowned conductor.

Laval, the third largest city in Québec, is advantageously located less than 30 minutes from downtown Montreal and 20 minutes from Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau International Airport, with major highways crossing the city. Laval is a welcoming, safe and bilingual (French and English) city. A school trip in Laval is assuredly a memorable and diversified experience.
