Ohio’s Lake Erie Shores & Islands is an amazing destination for any tour group—but student groups especially will find a treasure trove of attractions and hands-on opportunities!

Well-known for Cedar Point Amusement Park, the area boasts miles of lake shoreline, a safari adventure at African Safari Wildlife Park, historical attractions and island adventures. The village of Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island offers a particularly unique set of attractions for student groups.

When arriving at the lake, student groups can take the Miller Ferry, Jet Express, or Goodtime I to the island, where they’ll enjoy the ride in addition to wonderful views of Lake Erie. Once at the island, the Put-in-Bay Island Tour Train offers group transportation for the day. The Island Tour Train features different group packages ranging from a short, narrated tour of the island to a fun-filled day of adventure with stops at Perry’s Cave, The Butterfly House, Crystal Cave, Perry’s Victory and the International Peace Memorial—with its informative Visitors Center.

Plus, they experience phenomenal views while standing on the deck of the 352-foot-tall monument overlooking the Lake Erie Islands. Group dining options are plentiful as well and are easily added to an island tour. After a day of learning and exploring, groups can return to the mainland and discover the area’s many museums. Or blow off some steam at Ghostly Manor Thrill Center, where students can have fun at a haunted house, 4D theater, skating rink, arcade or virtual reality game.
