WorldStrides Acquires NoVa-based Envision

August 15, 2018

WorldStrides, the largest experiential learning and study abroad company in the U.S., has acquired Envision Experience, the nation’s leading provider of career exploration and leadership programs that help students make their career, college and life aspirations a reality. Learn more about how both organizations’ academic enrichment programs will be strengthened.

Charlottesville-based WorldStrides has welcomed Envision Experience to the WorldStrides family. Headquartered in Vienna, Virginia, Envision’s career exploration and leadership programs enable students from elementary age through college to discover their passions, test-drive a career and build a plan to achieve their aspirations.

Expertise in delivering quality immersive programming for students has earned Envision a strong reputation among parents and educators as a leader in academic enrichment programs. Founded in 1985, Envision Experience offers twenty unique programs, including the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) and National Youth Leadership Forums (NYLF) on Medicine, Business Innovation, Engineering & Technology, Law & CSI, National Security, Media, and Pathways to STEM and Explore STEM programs for early STEM exploration. Envision will be a key part of WorldStrides’ efforts to offer broad and deep opportunities for students to study all around the world. The extensive program offerings will significantly expand WorldStrides’ current offerings for students enrolling as individuals.

“WorldStrides will now have the ability to offer a wide range of follow-on experiences to our student travelers, and Envision has the opportunity to positively impact the lives of more students,” noted Jim Hall, WorldStrides CEO.

“It’s a true win-win. Students that participate in group programs through WorldStrides are often ‘bitten by the experiential learning bug’-–and they’ll have the opportunity to explore a wide variety of programming offered by Envision, as well as the other programs WorldStrides offers through Oxbridge, CBL, and Honors Performance Series.”

Envision and other WorldStrides programs are complementary—and together, the two organizations will offer distinct programming to ensure students of every age and interest can find opportunities that match their goals. Envision will continue to operate under its current leadership, who will share their expertise with other parts of the WorldStrides family.

“I could not be more excited that Envision is joining the WorldStrides team. This enables us to dramatically expand our ability to help students reach their full potential,” added Duncan Young, Envision CEO. “As an education-focused company with strong resources, WorldStrides is a wonderful fit for the long term.”

With the addition of Envision, WorldStrides will enhance a portfolio of educational programs that offer students an arc of outside the classroom experiences, enriching their lives and preparing them to be successful adults. More than 450,000 students now make the world their classroom through WorldStrides’ experiential learning opportunities each year.
