Meet Megan Marshall

January 16, 2019

Megan Marshall is the new membership coordinator for SYTA and will be handling everything membership related within the association, as well supporting the day-to-day operations. Get to know a bit about her and why traveling (or teleporting) is tops in her book!

What’s a fun fact or something SYTA members might not know about you?
I’m a triplet!

What’s your favorite place you’ve ever traveled to and what was your favorite thing you ate while you were there?
Hands down, Santorini, Greece! It’s so hard to choose because there was such an amazing variety of food. Most people would think of Gyro’s, Feta or Baklava (which were all absolutely amazing,) but their yogurt and honey? Locals explained to us that because of the vegetation on the island, their honey is one of a kind. Every morning, my husband and I would have yogurt with honey and crushed pistachios—nom! Is it time to go back yet?

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
The ability to teleport! My three-hour drive to my parent’s house would take seconds, not to mention that I would be able to travel to any place in the world with ease without time and/or money being an issue.

Why do you think student travel is an essential experience?
If students have the opportunity to participate in student travel, they should take it whenever they can. What better way to learn about something than to visit and experience it first hand? Not only does it make students more cultured, it broadens their perspectives and gets them a little out of their comfort zone as well.

It’s Friday evening! Where are you mostly likely to be and what are you doing?
I am the biggest homebody you’ll ever meet. Most Friday nights, you can find me on the couch with a fuzzy blanket, reading my favorite James Patterson (or any crime/mystery) book!
