I hope your summer is off to a great start! I am running for a seat on the SYTA Board of Directors, and want to introduce myself a bit if we haven’t had the chance to connect yet.

I’ve been part of this industry for 8 years, working in the group travel company my mother owned for over 30 years. I officially took over the business last year, but the heart of it has always been the same: helping students see the world in a way that’s safe, meaningful, and educational.

Before travel, I spent 16 years in education as a teacher and school counselor. That experience gives me a unique lens on what schools need from us, how they make decisions, and how we can better support them.

As a military spouse, mom, and business owner, I’ve worn many hats and juggled a lot of priorities—just like so many of us in this industry. I believe those perspectives can be really valuable on the board as SYTA continues to grow and adapt.

As a tour operator myself, I understand the challenges and opportunities we all face—especially in today’s climate. I’m running because I want to bring that combined experience to the table: part educator, part operator, and someone who deeply values SYTA’s mission and the power of travel to transform young lives.

I’m not a big fan of “campaigning,” but I care deeply about this organization and the work we all do. I’d be honored to represent our community and contribute in a meaningful way.
